Along
with these benefits, one of the most impressive qualitative
impacts has been the mobilization generated and the human
capital accumulated as a result of the multiplier agents and
volunteers trained – health agents, midwives, producers,
teachers, young monitors, youth and women’s groups –
contributing significantly to ensuring the social sustainability
of the project and creating the conditions for the consolidation
of an integrated and participatory model of development where
all are not only beneficiaries, but also co-responsible for its
construction.
The lessons learned also enable the construction of well-adapted
social technologies that can serve as demonstrations of low cost
and high impact solutions that can be replicated in other areas
and contexts. As a result, growing demands are being placed on
Health & Happiness to support other governmental and
non-governmental institutions, both within the Amazon region and
beyond, which constitutes the current challenge of changing the
scale of the work and universalizing the successful experiences. |
